Description
This is the first image I’ve created of Avebury Stone Circle, a favourite Neolithic site of mine for many years, this is number 6 in the edition of 50 and presented framed with a mount cut by the artist.
This is a small wood engraving carved in lemonwood in early 2023, with print area measuring 61mm wide by 40mm high, it shows the two iconic megaliths that form the Cove, with a third circle stone visible in the distance between them. In the background the henge bank and tree line can be seen, and over the shoulder of the edge of the bank can be see the landscape of the downs – looking up towards the Ridgeway and the source of the Avebury stones.
