The Bratton Horse – limited edition woodcut

My October 2022 woodcut print of the Bratton / Westbury Horse, in an edition of 21.

Wiltshire is famous for it’s White Horse Hill figures, and boasts 8 examples that can be visited today – at Broad Town, Hackpen Hill, Cherhill Down, Roundway Down near Devizes, and at Marlborough, Alton Barnes and the Vale of Pewsey.

The print is available on heavyweight, medium texture paper – size A3, the print area measures approximately 15x15cm and is centred, portrait, on the paper. The 220gsm paper can be mounted and framed (for example in an appropriate A3 frame) or can be cut down to suit smaller square or rectangular frames.

The print will be despatched in an oversized postal tube for protection in transit, and to limit the need to roll these heavier papers too tightly into a standard tube. This makes relaxing the paper before mounting, framing or display a little easier.

Each print is different – variations in appearance, edge impression and texture are a natural part of the hand-finished process.

Note: An impression from this edition has been used on a small (148mm) greetings card, also available here singly or as part of a set of three Wiltshire-inspired cards. However this design will never otherwise be available as a digital print.
