Description
A wood engraving I made to celebrate the Summer Solstice 2025. Limited edition of 10. Free delivery (mainland UK) Supplied mounted in brilliant white and framed in a light wood-effect.
I made this rough wood engraving on a spare block while I was working on my ‘Listen to Meg’ large linocut. It’s a small piece, carved in haste to capture the moment. It is loosely inspired by Long Meg (the megalith that stands outside the stone circle ‘Long Meg and her Daughters’ in Cumbria) but is not an accurate representation of that stone, more a feeling of what that place means to me. On the stone you can see the circular rock art that makes the site so famous.
Carved into end-grain wood and printed using professional relief inks. Each print is on acid-free heavyweight paper and is presented here mounted and framed in a light, wood-effect Ikea ‘Tysslinge’ frame. See other listings for black frame and mount-only options.
As with any handmade product, each print in the edition will vary slightly.
Please note a brilliant white mount is used for this print, and not the off-white/cream seen in some photos.
Printed area: 35mm x 35mm
Mount: 75mm x 85mm
Mount aperture: 44mm x 46mm
